The Canadian-born already played piano, ukulele and flute before she began playing the violin at the age of ten years. It received the final "undergraduate degree" at the Cleveland Institute of Music . When Chien first time the Cleveland Orchestra heard she inspired the show so much that she took a career as an orchestral musician into consideration. However, Chien was also always interested in contemporary music. Therefore, they then completed his studies at the California Institute of Arts, a college that is known for artistic and interdisciplinary experiments.

Chien began her career as professional professional musician in Los Angeles, where she with her agical violin to two CDs of classical music from Sony contributed. She also starred in the Grammy Awards with artists like Aerosmith , Vince Gill and Luciano Pavarotti on stage.


As a member of the Oregon Symphony Orchestra and theOregon Symphony String Quartet, Chien joined both with thePacific Symphony Orchestra, as well as with the Opera Pacific Orchestra and took part in the world famous Grand Teton and Colorado Music Festival part.
